Patient of the Week

This is Pappi! Pappi is a Chihuahua that came in for a routine dental cleaning. We knew that there were a few loose incisors in the front but we couldn’t do a full exam of the back of the mouth. While we were cleaning the teeth we found a loose molar at the very back that needed to be extracted. Our concern was that this tooth was infected and could have caused further problems if it wasn’t treated properly. This shows that we cannot always see all the problems with the teeth in an animal that is awake and that we often need to have our patient under anesthesia to do a complete oral health exam. Pappi was a great patient for us. He is such a sweet little boy. We hope he is feeling better soon!
