Hospital and Operations Manager
Samantha
Sam’s passion for animals began at a young age helping her Grandma who bred boxers and starting her first veterinary job at age 18.
Sam comes to our team with both a background in management and in the Veterinary industry, working at emergency and general practice clinics; she is a trained Vet Assistant with expertise in management and conflict resolution.
Sam likes spending her spare time grooming and spending time in the outdoors with her son, and dog pack of 5 dogs!
Shannon
Shannon has worked at Steveston Veterinary Hospital as a Veterinary Assistant since 2014. Previously, Shannon did volunteer work with animals.
She has two dogs, a Spaniel mix named Coco and a Miniature Australian Shepherd named Koda. Shannon has also had a number of cats over the years, most of them being semi-feral or strays. Currently she has three cats named Minnie, Loki and Zoey.
In her free time she enjoys reading or hiking with her dogs.
Registered Veterinary Technicians
Rebecca
Rebecca is a Registered Veterinary Technician from Alberta. She started her career in veterinary medicine in 2017 by obtaining her Veterinary Office Assistant certificate. After her first year assisting in an emergency practice, she went back to school to become a Registered Veterinary Technician. Becca continued to work in general practice while being a student and once she graduated, she moved to Vancouver. Since being in Vancouver, Becca has become Fear Free Certified and is excited to continue growing as an RVT.
In her spare time, Becca loves going for hikes, hanging out at the beach, or going out to try new food!
Support Staff
Luciene
Luciene has been on staff at Steveston Veterinary Hospital since 2008. She was previously a veterinary assistant at a small animal practice in Nova Scotia. Her career in veterinary medicine began when she started volunteering at the SPCA in Dartmouth, NS. She obtained her Veterinary Assistant diploma in 2006 and has taken several continuing education courses through VSPN and Vetmedteam.
She is interested in science, politics, and history and enjoys photography, traveling, and reading in her free time. Her favorite parts of the job are being an advocate for those who can’t ask for help when needed, and also learning about the advances and technology involved in veterinary medicine.
Nezhat
Nez joined Steveston Veterinary Hospital in March of 2020. She trained as a veterinarian in India, and is pursuing her licencing here in Canada. She has also worked in Oman, and Dubai where she trained in hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis for dogs. She has an interest in holistic medicine and completed a post graduate certification in Veterinary Homeopathy, and looks forward to being able to apply her training here when she completes her Canadian exams.
Vova
Vova joined Steveston Veterinary Hospital in July 2023. In his home country of Ukraine, he was a Veterinarian, and he is keen to pursue licensing here in Canada.
Catherine
Catherine joined Steveston Veterinary Hospital in June of 2020 after completing her Veterinary Assistant diploma at Granville College back in March. She enjoys her time idly reading books or playing games, and when she isn't doing that, you'll most likely find her with her ferrets Crusty and Hebe.
Amey
Amey joined Steveston Veterinary Hospital in September 2021. He is originally from India where he worked as a Veterinary Assistant
Matt
Matt works as both part of our customer care team and kennel staff. He hopes to go to school to become a Registered Veterinary Technician.
Shelly
Shelly has always had a love and passion for animals and started working at Steveston Veterinary Hospital in 2013.
She enjoys spending time with her Border Collie Skye, and her 3 cats Charlie, Sylvie, and PJ. Outside of work you can find her spending time in Steveston with her husband and 2 daughters, reading or gardening.
Terri
Terri joined SVH in November 2022. Her love of animals and strong communication skills make her a client care superstar!
Terri is originally from Scotland and in her spare time loves paddle boarding, hiking and going to concerts.
Jessica
Jessica completed her Veterinary Healthcare Assistant program in 2020, and was fear free certified shortly after. Jess' love for animals started at a young age, particularly when she got her best friend Yuki, may she rest easy. Jess has a soft spot for giving out treats to our beloved patients (especially to the senior ones!). She strives to ensure all vet visits, although scary, can also be positive.
In her spare time you can find her walking her dog, Water, or spending time out with friends.
