JOB POSITION: Registered Veterinary Technician
Wage: $27.00- $33.00 per hour based on experience
EXPERIENCE
Minimum 1 year working in a veterinary hospital
DETAILS
Includes, but not limited to:
Hospitalized patient care
Blood and urine sample collection and catheter placement
Dentistry
Surgical preparation, anesthesia monitoring, and patient recovery
Radiology - Setting up and taking radiographs
Educating clients
Taking initial TPR and medical history of patients for appointments
Maintaining logs and keeping accurate medical records
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
Has a valid Registered Veterinary Technician Diploma
A dedicated, hard-working individual with an optimistic, can-do attitude
Extremely empathetic and patient with pets and owners
Responsible and reliable team-player
Strong customer service and care
A desire to improve their current skills, as well as learn new ones
Must have experience working in the veterinary industry or equivalent related experience, and completion of the RVT program is required.
Join our experienced team of talented veterinarians and technicians! Our veterinary and animal health technologists and technicians perform some or all of the following duties:
Provide nursing care for animals
Handle, restrain, and attend to animals undergoing treatment and surgery
Conduct radiographs, sample collection, and other laboratory tests to aid in diagnosing animal health issues
Assist veterinarians before, during, and after surgeries
Prepare surgical equipment, administer and monitor anesthesia, and assist in post-surgical cleanup
Administer medications and vaccines as directed by veterinarians
Perform wound care and bandaging
Educate clients on animal health, including nutrition and at-home care
Perform routine animal dental procedures and assist veterinarians with dental care
Assist with office administration tasks
